Web Development
This page is not about research: it's a showcase of some of my web development projects, which led me to research.
I built my first web site in 1999. During the next two years I wrote HTML, copying most of my JavaScript code from other web sites. I built my first content management system in 2001 - I used ASP/VBScript with MS Access as the database. Surprisingly, that first experiment in data-driven web development is still around. About two years later I moved on to writing my web apps with C#, VB.Net, Java, and PHP, which enabled me to develop some interesting web-based systems.
At that point I stopped being a web designer per se; even though I still occasionally design a website here and there. My work shifted to back-end development, and, gradually, I went from building dynamic websites to focusing on content management systems. Eventually, my interest in content management led me to doing research in this area, which I describe on my computer science page.
